Breakfast and All-Day Dessert Table
After waking up from a restful sleep, our guests enjoy our breakfast staples; like robust coffees, herbal teas, our farm fresh eggs with fresh herbs from the garden, buttermilk pancakes, French toast, bacon or sausage, and fruit compote are served buffet style from 8:30 am to 10:00. They’re made using locally-sourced ingredients. Early departures may enjoy a continental breakfast. All day tasty snacks like a homemade pie, breads and coffee cake sit alongside fresh fruits, on the buffet table.
WhistleWood Farm Silver Dollar Buttermilk Pancakes
1 ¼ cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons oil
¾ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup corn meal
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
In a small mixing bowl, beat the egg with a fork. Beat in buttermilk and oil. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, corn meal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add egg mixture to dry ingredients. Stir the mixture until blended but slightly lumpy. Lightly grease a griddle or heavy skillet. Pour ¼ cup of batter for each pancake.
