OLD-FASHIONED CABIN FEVER WEEKEND

AT

Long before television, computers and cell phones, folks entertained themselves.  On cold winter evenings, families and neighbors gathered by the fire to tell stories, recite poetry, sing songs and make music.  On the weekends of March 14-16 & 28-30, at Whistlewood Farm Bed & Breakfast, we’re going to step back in time and do the same thing.  When you arrive on Friday evening, a big pot of soup will be simmering on the stove and a fire blazing in the fireplace.  For those eager to sample our wonderful local restaurants that night, reservations can be arranged for you.  After breakfast the next morning, you’ll be on your own, but that Saturday evening, you best be back on the farm by 6:00 PM when the old-fashioned fun begins.

Bud and Patricia Kenny, with their mule Della, walked to Whistlewood Farm from Arkansas by way of the upper coast of Maine this past fall.  (Check out their amazing story at www.usonfoot.com.)  They will begin the evening, shortly after 6:00 PM, with some of their original poetry and a few stories about their journey to date.  Dinner will then be served, country style, and after, each guest will be invited to share a story, a poem, or a song with the group.  Musical instruments are invited.

On into the night, the house will be alive with stories and music, just like the good old days.  GAMEBOYS, i-PODS AND OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES WILL BE CONFISCATED AND CARRIED OUT WITH THE MANURE IN THE MORNING!

This is an all adult, BYOB event.  For more details and information, and to book your favorite room, contact us as soon as possible at 845-876-6838We look forward to sharing this very special event with you and yours.
